I have seemingly out of nowhere been asked for 5 months of bank statements . Because I just went through a sudden and dangerous health situation my nerves are gone I worry from other areas online this is a start of an investigation and that confuses me which isn't helping my health . I don't understand why it would be me if it's unusual
I have been on UC for 4 years but will be cut off at retirement in 9 months so just wondered if this is routine to request 5 months of bank statements at times or is it unusual ? I just want not to be anxious about something that may be normal spot checks ?
It is not something we come across frequently on the forum but we do hear from members that they have been asked to produce bank statements. During Covid proof of identity took a back seat and DWP are now catching up.
Unless you have come into inheritance or a win fall, there is usually nothing to worry about.
