Hi Gerogiegirl

I can't tell you exactly, but it sounds as if the decision maker didn't entirely agree with the assessor and has awarded you more points so that you get PIP. This is only a guess, and I could be wrong.

You can always ring and ask for a copy of the assessment report (PA4), which will tell you what the assessor thought you should be awarded. When you get the decision letter, you can compare the two.

Hi Georgiegirl

As BIS has stated you need to contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report, as it was a paper assessment it is called a PA3.

If you do apply for a MR, you need to state that you are not asking for the Daily Living component to be looked at but asking for the mobility component to be looked at again because ....... x, y, z

You need to check our guides,
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

I have NOT applied for those extra pages in my case, fearlul that the sloth of their operations would delay the proceedigs too much. Could this be a concern?

On Mobility - from my experience, get a letter from your doctor on surgery headed paper. "This person cannot safely walk xxx metres" worked in my case.
I sent an email to my GP so she could cut and paste and edit text with least work for her to do . It came back verbatim, signed. Result - maximum rate.

Lucky you having a GP that you can email. Ours won't accept it.
