Moving to different area and concerned how to sort benefits

I am due to be moving to a different area of the country soon and don't know how to sort out about transferring my benefits. I'm currently claiming old style ESA with severe disability premium (support group) and PIP. From what I understand when I move I'll need to claim UC but no idea what to do or when. To add to the complication, I'm going through a divorce. Currently we're getting couples benefits but will need to separate our accounts again. (Will be living separate as soon as I move - meant to be within next month)
Also I put in my PIP review form about 7 months ago but have not heard anything. Anxious to ring them as don't want to make things any worse but need to know where I stand for income for living. Have you any advise about this please? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Anna

You have a lot on your plate. Unfortunately, some of your questions are outside the remit of this forum, and you need to speak to a specialist welfare advisor who can look at your case, especially when you will be claiming as a single person and in a new area of the country. If there's time, I would try and get help before you go. advicelocal.uk/ Hopefully, you will be able to use the link and find someone where you are currently living.

Nothing will harm your case by ringing the DWP to try and find out where they are with your review. Lots of people ring and ask. In the past, we might have been able to give you a timescale, but that's not the case anymore, as we have some members waiting more than 18 months to hear about their review.
