Review form - filling in on original as sent by DWP

Sorry about the heading, didn't know what to put.

I have been advised by a welfare adviser that when I receive the review forms, I have to fill out the form as sent, i.e. by handwriting in my answers.

I had planned to type out my answers in a separate document as I have arthritis in fingers and find it hard to write.

I was also told that I should use complete sentences, as I have written in bullet point form as I find it hard to organise my thoughts.

Do I really have to write it all out by hand? I know this is a simple yes/no, but the welfare adviser is saying that I HAVE to write it out, and the DWP will not even consider my review form if I have typed it out!

I thought I could write on each page section where I have something of substance to write "please see separate sheet" which I did for my original application.

Many thanks, as always, for your help.

Hi Smithers

Your welfare adviser is completely mistaken, and I honestly don't know where they are getting their information from. I don't even know where it says that people have to write and not type. There are plenty of members on here who have sent in typed pages. I have helped numerous people complete their forms, and we've always sent typed answers, and they have still received their awards. So please ignore the welfare adviser and type what you want.

All you need to make sure is that what you do is clear. You can write in each box - "please see attached pages no. X" (and write in the appropriate number). I do know some people who write a single sentence in the box and then say " Answer continued on page no. Y. It really doesn't matter.

Make sure that your attached pages are all numbered and have your name and national insurance number on each. Personally, I only print one side of the paper - but I know some people do double-sided.

Good luck
