ASSESMENT REPORT COMPLETED & SENT TO DWP WITHIN 2HOURS OF FACE TO FACE. was created by acloud129
hello everyone my dad and i are new on here and i posted a topic this morning but for some reason it has not appeared so i am posting again. i would be grateful if anyone could put me and my dad out of our misery as we are so anxious. i have 2 simple questions:
(1) my dad has been in receipt of standard rate of both components of PIP since 2020. my dad had applied for pip before lockdown. they awarded him this based on a telephone assessment as face-to-face consultations were banned due to lockdown. yesterday, my dad and i attended a face-to-face assessment at 9am. we were there for 20 mins or so. at 12.05 pm, we received a text from DWP to say they have received the assessors report!! how on earth could someone go through all the paperwork, (and there were lots of it), compile a report, an send it to DWP within 2 hours ?? i would have thought that unless this was a bad sign of scoring 0 points on everything, it would be impossible to do it in the space of 2 hours or less. or have i got this wrong? am i worrying for no reason or am i justified in having some concern about this due to the extremely FAST time in which the report has been compiled and sent??
this morning, my son phoned the DWP to ask if he could be notified of the points my dad scored at yesterday’s assessment on the "daily living" and "mobility", but he said that no decision had been made and that i would have to wait for a letter to be sent between 4 to 6 weeks. my son then asked for a copy of the assessment report to be sent to us and that request was accepted by DWP. hopefully, it will arrive in the 7 working days but to put us out of our misery, we would be grateful for the answer to our question above.
(2) at the same time in applying for PIP in 2020, my dad applied for UC as a joint claim with my mum. again, he was assessed by telephone due to lockdown. he was awarded the LCWRA. if my dad receives an ongoing award at the same standard rate or higher, will he still have to attend another assessment for UC, or does the PIP award decision over rule and there’s is no need for another separate assessment for UC?
I would be grateful if any of the talented moderators or forum members could throw some light on this and thank everyone in advance for all your kind help.

Hi acloud129
When you write a post, it won't appear until a moderator has approved it. I have answered your previous post, and it is now live.
1) I said in the previous post I can't speculate about the speed and suggested you request the assessment report. This you have done, and hopefully, it will appear soon.
2) PIP and UC are two separate benefits - and although there are some overlaps they are looking at different things. Being awarded one benefit does not stop any claimant from having a second assessment for another benefit.
