strange questions about time at my PIP review today was created by Beragon
I had my PIP review today, by phone call as I do not have facilities for a zoom call. I had been waiting for over a year and I had enought points already for the lower award under mobility.
As my conditions, both peripheral neuropathy and arthritis in my feet has got worse since my claim in 2017 I asked that they increase my award under mobility to the higher amount.
I was ready with my answers about distance I can move and pain and repeating the activity etc- you know.
But I was not aware that I would be asked questions about the time it took me to
Walk across the kitchen
Walk from the front door to my car
Move from the kitchen to living room.
Any idea what was going on here and why was I asked these questions?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Beragon
It is becoming increasingly popular for assessors to ask people about the length of time it takes them to do certain activities. It's not as if you're ever going to have timed yourself to how long it takes you to walk across your kitchen, and as your assessor has no idea what your kitchen is like, in my opinion, it is a pointless question. Why do they ask? To try and judge whether you can do something within a reasonable time frame. How they can do that inside a home, I have no idea.

Thankyou Biss,
I had a message from the DWP saying they had received the assessment. I will request the PA4 report, like I did at my original claim. Can I make this request by email or do I have to phone them? Do they still send the PA4 in the post or will they e mail it to me?

Hi Beragon
You need to phone them. It will be sent out by post - 7 to 10 days though sometimes it is quicker.
