Report from PIP review was created by MaureenE
There are many mistakes in the report. The health professional has stated "no specialist input, no active treatment, no recent mri scans" on a few of the activities. I was discharged from specialist care because they could do no more for me & I rely on treatment & care from my gp.
Planning a journey will go from 12 to 0 points. Moving around was considered less than 20 metres, 12 points, but will only be 8 points because of the assumptions about my treatment. I am waiting for an mri scan appointment now.
The daily living components are not correct, I was not asked about essential problems.
The health professional stated I was not in pain. I was in severe pain throughout & this affected my ability to answer the questions fully. Recommended review in 3 years.
How do I challenge these assumptions in a mandatory reconsideration when I have received my decision letter?
I am very worried and would appreciate any advice.
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

There is a guide to MRs and Appeals in the PIP section and also one on dealing with the assessment report. See the Guides link at the top of the page.

What do you think about the assumptions made regarding my treatment? Are they likely to change my points if I challenge this? Should I get a further letter from my GP?

Hi Maureen
If you're not happy with an aspect of your report - you can challenge it. We can't tell you whether they are likely to change your points because we're not assessors and don't know your case. If you want to get a letter from your GP confirming that you were discharged into his care because there's nothing more to be done and he's supporting you - it can't hurt.
