DLA and Attendance Allowance was created by Ally111
Hello
Does anyone know if you are currently claiming DLA Mobility part (person is over 70 Therefore not transferred over to PIP).

Can you apply for Attendance Allowance without putting DLA Mobility part a risk?
(Persons circumstances dramatically changed and now needs a lot of care).

Any advice will be useful.

Thank you.

Hi Ally111

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

The short answer to your question is .... NO

Attendance Allowance is for claimants over state pension age and not in receipt of DLA or PIP.

The difference between AA and DLA is that there is no mobility component when you claim AA.

If you now have care needs then you need to contact DLA helpline: 0800 121 4600 and inform them of a change in your circumstances.
