PIP Mandatory Reconsideration. Should I? was created by Jeremias17v9
Hello. I recently had my PIP reviewed & was awarded enhanced rate Mobility but I missed out on the Daily Living enhanced rate by 1 point. On 1 descriptor in particular I feel that I should have been awarded more points & am considering asking my GP to write a supporting letter for that descriptor solely if I were to request a M.R. Can you make a M.R. to request that they review 1 descriptor only or will your entire award be looked at again? Thank you. J

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Jeremias17v9
You can request that they look at your Daily Living only, and you could ask that they only reconsider the one descriptor, but they may look at all the Daily Living points or the entire award.

Thank you BIS.
That is precisely what I thought & was fearing given how inconsistent their awards can be. My hope of getting the higher award was purely to qualify for the 10 year "light touch" as my conditions are deteriorating & I have been in receipt of assistance for 25 years. I was given a 4 year award/review in 3. I need to think carefully now.
Thank you so much again.
