Hi all I put in a change of circumstances last October was supposed to have questionnaire and assessment in December 2022 reported again in February 2023 as didn't receive questionnaire or assessment in 2022 had the assessment on 17th May 2023 received decision today been placed in the support group from wrag but not backdated to when I put in change October 2022 ihe assessment was a video call they have taken it from 2nd of June is this correct please Happy with the result but no backdated money

Hi Mark65

You are not a pain, we have come across this question a few times.

The first question I would ask is how did you request a change of circumstances, did you phone DWP and make the request?

If you did did you take down the name of the person you spoke to and date and time?

Did you follow up this phone call by sending in a letter by recorded delivery outlaying what had been discussed?

Even if you did none of the above it may be worth writing to DWP and ask for a mandatory reconsideration not on the award but from when the award was awarded from, it's worth a try as you are loosing out on £1,500.

Exactly I phoned them today the guy said that's not how it works lol but he did request a call back why would they take it from when I had the assessment and not last October it was me that request a wca

Hi Mark65

They take it from when a decision is made if it was a review, not from when the assessment was made unless the decision was made the same day as the assessment. Usually you have to wait 8 weeks from an assessment to a decision.
I would apply for a MR as what you have posted does not make sense, which ever way you look at it.
