I have today received a copy of the DWP response for my tribunal appeal. It is incredibly insulting and basically states that if I was as disabled as I claim I wouldn't have the job I've got and that I should be reported to the DVLA as with this level of disability I am a danger on the road.
I do a desk job from home, going into the office once a week and I do have a restricted drivers licence due to my condition.
I find it very insulting that they are pretty much accusing me of lying when they have only ever spoken to me over the phone.
I am tempted to complain to DWP....but would this be a bad idea and detrimental to my tribunal appeal. Has anyone else received a response like this??
I'm sorry you find yourself in this position. You are certainly not the only person to have had a DWP response that implies you are exaggerating your symptoms. You could put in a complaint about the wording of their response, but until the Tribunal is completed, you're unlikely to get a resolution. As hard as it is, the important thing is to look over the papers and make sure that you're ready to fight your case and are able to rebut what the DWP has said.
