Not enough information in answers on PIP2 form

Hi all

I’ve recently applied for PIP and tomorrow I have my telephone assesment. Unfortunately only two days ago I found your website and paid for the guides and realised I haven’t put enough information in my answers on the form.

I was filling in the form through the phone with a citizen advice agent which took 4.5h and I thought they would help me more but they rushed me and I had to dictate what to write. It was extremely exhausting and I had a panic attack after. I’m autistic, I have chronic fatigue, severe depression, anxiety and fibromyalgia and that’s why I asked for help.

Today I made a lot of extra notes for all the pip2 questions using the guide and I’ve read in it that I can add some more information to my answers during the assessment but it should be only key points. I’m worried I won’t be able to add everything therefore I wanted to ask if there is a way I could send them the extra information for my answers or is it too late? Should I just wait for their decision and appeal if I won’t be awarded anything?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Elwi

Unfortunately, you can't send in extra information at this stage, and when you have your assessment, they will judge you on the information they have available. Have your notes handy and try and include any of the things you think you have missed out. Don't try for everything - because you probably won't get that opportunity - so think about the most important points that were not already on the form.

Don't worry about this stage - what you might need to do next - just concentrate on tomorrow. I hope it goes well for you. Don't forget to do a covert recording of the assessment. If you can't think of an answer - tell the assessor that you need to take a drink rather than rushing to give an instant answer.

Good luck
