Managed migration experience so far was created by Lilillannant
Hi, Id just thought i would share what I have found helpful, in case anyone experiences the same difficulty.

I receive irESA legacy benefits and am in the support group and have SDP. I also get Child tax credit.

I received a managed migration letter and had support from Citizens Advice Help to Claim, who have been great. They have calculated what I should receive under UC including transitional protection. They advised me to write that Regulation 19 of The Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014 my LCW status migrates with me and I should be transferred from ESA support group to the corresponding group under UC in my journal. They also said to tell them that I receive SDP (severe disability premium) and should be entitled to transitional protection and could i get it added to my first payment of UC.

I had to attend the jobcentre for my identity check because my passport is out of date (usually too sick to travel, haven't renewed) and I failed some of the identity questions online which i found very confusing. I passed the check at the job centre, but I found the meeting very difficult in terms of getting there, waiting in a room etc because of my disabilities.

The job coach arranged a claimants commitment meeting for me again at the job centre. I asked if there was an alternative, he said no- which was not true. I rang citizens advice help to claim again who said to use my journal to ask for reasonable adjustments under EA2010. I copied the Benefits and Work guide appendix section which states the DWP regulations that i can ask for my work commitments to be held electronically or by phone. I have had a reply from the job centre in my journal to say they will now ring me for my commitments appointment.

I have not yet had my commitments meeting. I have been told that my decision will be worked out on a specific date. Citizens advice told me to ring them to check if the amount has been worked out correctly and they will help me challenge it if it looks wrong.

Very grateful to Benefits and Work, Rightsnet and Citizens Advice to help us all through this. I would have been lost otherwise. Hope it goes smoothly for everyone.

Hi Lilillannant,

Thanks for your feedback.
It appears that whilst DWP says expired passports are acceptable as ID at your Jobcentre appointment they fail the automated online ID verification for UC Managed Migration. Citizens Advice Help to Claim confirmed with me earlier this week that an expired passport is acceptable ID for UC Migration.
Here is a link to the full list of ID

Hi I am going through this as well, also in the support group.
I had my ID verified online but they tried asking me in for a
work commitments interview in the jobcentre.

I told them in the journal that I was in the support group and
please would they consider a telephone appt as I would find this difficult
due to my health problems.

Someone later replied to say this should be allowed and that they had left a
note for the job centre staff, I then received a message in the 'to dos' to
accept commitments there, (checking journal basically) so I did that and
it seems that is it for be for now.

My husband had to go in for an ID check and now has a phone call about self
employment next week.

Hi, thanks David. Yes the work coach advisor said the same when I took it in for the face to face. I took my expired passport and the other documents.

Citizens advice also helped go through the other documents that I needed to take, and there was a list of what was needed in my online journal to do section.
