Hi Dennana,
I would only think you have to if you having savings of at least £6,000. Or you could just say nothing and use it towards Christmas.

No problem. I know - I think they dont expect people to be overly honest, hence all the fraud checks. I remember when I had my finance checkup, and they asked if I had any cash at home, and I counted it and said " I do, £3.04" and the lady laughed and said " I wouldn't worry about it".

Hello,
I understand you.
I closed my instant saver with £1 something in it, with a closing statement for Universal Credit as I do not want any problem.
Better to close the account than have a savings account and UC assuming I have a lot of money in it.
