Universal credit stuck in tribunal for over a year was created by Kerry
Please help if you can. In 2023 was falsely accessed by the DWP of living in France. In 2019 I went on a day trip for 4 hours and they stopped all my universal credit from December 2023 and said they wanted the tickets from the day trip done 4 years earlier. I sent them a copy of the invoice which stated the depart time and the return time. They ignored it. So My case went to the tribunal in November 2023 and Im still waiting. Over the past year my child and myself have replied on food banks as no universal Crefit has come in. They also took away all my child tax credits. I really need help now and need a good Solictior to help me out of this hell hole that the DWP caused. Both me and my son have a rare terminal disease and we do not get any help.

Hi Kerry
I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately, your question is outside the remit of this forum.
Have you tried contacting your MP? If you haven't then I would try that. Explain your situation and the need for this to be sorted out urgently. Some MP's are really helpful in intervening in benefit situations. Even if you don't like your MP - it's still worth contacting them to see if they can help.
If you haven't, then I would try to get help from a specialist welfare advisor. They may be able to find out why there has been such a long delay and also see if you are entitled to any other additional benefits, especially considering the health issues of both of you. This link is to see whether you can identify someone in your area. advicelocal.uk/ Have you applied for PIP and DLA for your son?
I'm not able to recommend any solicitors - but I would try the two options I have suggested before you even go down that route. Some of our members have used legal help and most report they have not had a good experience and it has cost them more than anything they would get back.
I really hope you find a solution and I'm sorry that I don't have any further suggestions.
