Assessment was created by Richard
Hi I am having an appointment on the 18th December telephone, I unfortunately broke my wrist bone two days ago. I'm having a plate inserted next week so it'll probably be a few days before the assessment I really am In two minds as to ask for an other date.Or should I explain that I can't do the assessment for too long.
Another question is if I do the 18th then lose my pip do I get paid upto the 18th as I'm due to be paid on the 25th 7 days later
Thanks everyone

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Richard
It's your choice, but if there's a risk you won't have recovered from the operation, I would ring and ask them to change the date. The problem with you saying that you can't stay on the phone 'too long' is that is an unquantifiable length and could be difficult both for yourself and the assessor. If the assessor can't ask all the questions they need or want to ask in the time - they may insist on rining back on another date. That could be awkward as it is so close to the Christmas break.
If awards are stopped, it's difficult to say when exactly that would happen because it depends on how quickly the assessor sends back the form to the DWP and when a decision-maker will process it. So, although if that was the scenario, it would happen relatively quickly, I can't say when.
