PIP to ADP migration in relation to ESA and Universal Credit was created by dazzlelight
Hi I am being migrated from PIP to ADP (Adult Disability Payment, Scottish pip). I get hight rate care and high rate mobility for PIP. I am also in the ESA support group and recieve the disability income guarantee/enhanced disability premium.
I have been told by Social Security Scotland that I have to inform the DWP ESA that I'm being moved from PIP to ADP.
My question is would this be counted as a 'change of circumstances' that would trigger an automatic migration to Universal Credit making me loose out on my transitional protection?
And will I still get the disability income guarantee/enhanced disability premium part of my ESA when I transfer to ADP?
I have asked social security Scotland and they don't know and can't find any information online anywhere.
Any help appreciated thanks

Hi dazzlelight
I'm sorry, but we are unable to answer your entire question. No, it won't trigger an automatic migration to Universal Credit when moving from PIP to ADP. The other part of your question - I don't know, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere either. Perhaps another member may be able to say of their experience.

I was in very similar situation to yourself.I transferred over to ADP over 6 months ago and process was flawless with no issues.
All payments remained same. On bank statements / transactions instead of saying PiP it said SSS (Social Security Scotland) .
Although you will be anxious, it really was very straightforward.
Hope this is of some help and Good Luck ππ

Hi BIS, thanks for your reply. I tried citizens advice as well but they too were not sure. It's seems no one has come across this. So in the end I rang ESA and they said it won't trigger migration to Universal credit. But as my Christmas present I have now recieved my managed migration letter to UC anyway so I still have that to deal with now.
ESA line also said it shouldn't affect my SDP, but its enhanced disability premium/disability income guarantee i get not SDP so she wasnt too clear. At that point i gave up. so I guess I'll have to wait and see what my payments show in my ESA payment after my migration to ADP to be sure. Im hoping its unaffected so i still get transitional protection when i have the courage to face uc migration. thanks for your helpπ²
