UC WCA mail handling address - has it been received?

Hi on Friday i paid the expensive next day Saturday delivery to UC WCA. I used the address on the envelope they sent to me. I've just done a check of the royal mail tracking and it says "in transit" on Sunday evening so it didn't get delivered on time.

On further checking, it is at the North West Midlands MC which is a different from the address I put which was also a west midlands MC. The "in transit" is a bit concerning like it is stuck some where, but my other half is saying it has been received and logged at this MC for scanning and will go on to the DWP after.... He's saying it is probably not stuck somewhere.

My actual deadline is tomorrow, Monday so I hope is says arrived by then or I will be so worried.

If the MC is stamping as received then why doesn't the postal tracking say it is received?

Hi Kaitlin399,

I'm sorry but I don't understand what the North West Midlands MC is ?

Hello,

Post Office tracking use the abbreviation MC to mean "Mail Centre" and "in transit" means it's probably still on the move. Unfortunately, they've been very slow this weekend, probably due to the extra volume of Christmas post. I only know this because I've been tracking the progress of several packages over the past few days and, despite paying extra for 24-hour delivery, none was delivered on time. Maybe your letter will arrive later today - I think your partner's right about this. Hopefully, the DWP will also make allowances for the Christmas post.

Best wishes,

Wendy

If you've paid for next day Saturday delivery and it wasn't delivered, you can contact Royal Mail and complain - you should get a refund of the cost of the postage which is expensive (I know as that's happened to me and I got a refund as my item was delivered the day after it should have been). You can phone Royal Mail and find out when it will be delivered too and you can send the DWP the tracking details which will say Saturday delivery so that they know you sent it to get to them on time.

Hope this gets sorted for you,

Hi! Thank you for your replies. Yes, you were right Wendy, it arrived today and not on Saturday as paid for. I am relieved because the deadline is today.

I do hope that others who do a next day delivery and it cannot be delivered on time gets the understanding.

Hi Kaitlin399,

As far as I understand there is a deadline for next day delivery such as 1 pm and if you miss that on a Saturday then it will be delivered on the Monday.
