I have completed my WCA & have been put in the LCWRA group. The letter (17/1/25) on my UC account says: We may ask you to attend another Work Capability Assessment in the future. But I cannot find what the length of the actual award is. How do I find out how long this will be? It also says we will pay you extra money 3 months after your first sick note ( I submitted mine in May) so should I get arrears? This month my statement shows an increase of £416.19 but no mention of arrears. Finally do I still need to provide sick notes and have phone calls with my work coach. I have messaged to ask twice in my journal but nobody has replied. Thanks
You can phone UC and ask for the prognosis which means the time until the next WCA. But that is pretty meaningless at present owing to the backlogs and the changes that the new Labour government may make in the near future. You do not get paid the LCWRA element from the date you made the claim but only until 3 full UC assessment periods have passed. You will find more information in the BenefitsandWork Guides section. There is absolutely no need for sick notes and you can ignore any meeting requests with a Work Coach as they are now unable to sanction you whilst you are in the No Work Related Requirements Conditionality group.
Let me know how you get on. David
