ESA application for Cancer patient was created by jimmyod2000
I applied for ESA at the beginning of December, as my SSP was ending. I have a history of cancer and now a heart condition caused by the chemo and radio. My GP completed the page 24 - Cancer Treatment, so I did not complete the rest of the capability for work questionnaire.
In this circumstance, will I still have a face to face or phone assessment , or will DWP put me straight into Support Group?
Also, from once the ESA50 is submitted, how long before an assessment or before I receive a decision?

Yes, I have thank you. I've pretty much read every piece of advice online! I am still unclear if I will still need an assessment and how long the process takes. I guess I'm hoping someone in the same situation as me, who has been through the process, will respond.
Thanks for your help.

Hi jimmyod2000,

I cannot say whether you are going to have a face to face or phone assessment or whether the DWP will make a decision on the documentation otherwise known as a paper based decision. Most assessments at present are conducted over the phone.
