thankyou Chris
2 weeks doesn't feel very long, it feels like a huge mountain to get done, but maybe if I just do all the corrections, i have to ask the doctor to support me as well and getting an appointment is difficult
thankyou again, pretty depressed so I'm not saying much, I don't expect to get pip, but no points was a shock and a complete turnaround from previous assessment and my situation has worsened in the last year though i'm hope in time it will be better

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi becca,
If it's any consolation, I was given 0 points twice (2 separate occassions) - but now I get standard for both. It takes time, but worth persevering with, and fighting till the very end!
Chris.

Hi beccajayne,
I woukd certainly appeal! I would endorse all the previous advice.
Two things to add...
Engaging with others - this means
interact face-to-face in a contextually and socially appropriate manner, understand body language and establish relationships
Caselaw has confirmed that a mere polite exchange with a neighbour or shop assistant saying hello or similar is not enough to show this. Equally having a conversation with a GP is not enough. Remember that a GP will have had training to deal with people who are anxious and not able to socialise!
The relative who you visit is clearly offering ' support'. Support can be from a family member. However, this does not show that you are able to go and meet new people, establish relationships with them ( this is just as friends, or just as someone to have a lengthy and more meaningful conversation with, nothing more i) required,)
If your relative was with you, would you be able to go to eg a barbecue at a neighbours house or go to the local pub with friends of your relative, you may not already know? If not, why not- what would stop you doing this? What effect would it have? What support would your relative need to provide if you could go out to meet others?
If you can't get a doctor's letter, you can ask for a copy of your medical records. This should either be free or very low cost.
My second point ...
Yes, always ideal to get an appeal or Reconsideration in within 1 mth time limit. However you can submit a late application. You will need to show good reason. This could be due to your own poor health, seeking legal advice, bereavement, awaiting a GP letter etc. As long as you provide a reasonable explanation, a few days irca week ir two late will not matter. You can submit a late appeal up to 13mths after the relevant decision. Obviously the later you make the appeal, then the more difficult it is to argue you have good reason! Get your evidence and arguments all together and then send it all in together even if a few days late.
Another suggestion is to Google any relevant charities or support societies. These websites often have information about symptoms (as well as self help). I often refer to such organisations saying on eg The British Heart Foundation website it lists 10 symptoms - I have 8 of these....
Cite the website and the relevant information. There may also be relevant self help eg pacing or avoiding various things. This information might also help explain your lifestyle.
Anyway...
Good luck.
Let us know how you get on.
