quick question about ID was created by kittyroo
hello could you tell me exactly how much ID do I have to give the Jobcentre once I apply for UC. I know they want passport ID, but i dont have any other official ID because I dont pay bills, my landlord does so I dont have any utility bills as ID. I also dont have a driving licence. Will they want more than one ID.

Hi Kittyroo,
They do usually ask for Driving License/Passport and as you mentioned, some form of utility bill. You could use your council tax bill, as even if your landlord pays the bills, your name may be on that if you're in charge of the property as such. You could try a tenancy agreement, that may include your name with the address.
But if not, I would advise calling the UC helpline, and asking them what they will accept, if you don't have any of the documents they request.
Good luck!
Chris

Partly depends whether on-line or in person, I'd say. I had to do mine in person because - contrary to this - P60s aren't are NOT accepted through the on-line gateway (it wasn't one of the limited options the system offered. nor P45 IIRC), whereas P60/P45 are accepted in person, as per www.gov.uk/jobcentre-plus-interview
Do note also that for reasons best known to DWP your passport can only be accepted as ID if in date.

My passport expired last year. I did not renew as too unwell to travel anywhere. I will have to look in the Feb24 version of Migration to UC from ESA Guide.
