April uprating and migrating ESA to UC was created by Help-needed!
I’ve received the dreaded migration letter and have just got the ESA uprating letter which states going up from the 10th April, my migration last date is the 24th April. So was wondering how the transitional support is calculated? Is it on the last payment received or from what your entilited to when you start the UC claim?
So if I claim after the 10th April will I get the uprated amount? Or would I have to wait until the next payment of the uprated amount then make the claim?

Hi Help-needed!
You would be better off if you waited until after the annual uprating of Benefits. However ESA uses different dates and the rule is uprating commences from the start of your first benefit week which begins on or after the 8 April. So it appears your ESA Benefit week commences on the 10 April. So if you claimed on or after the 11 April 2025 your Transitional Protection would be based on the uprated figure.
