Migration to UC done, what is classed as a change of circumstances was created by Anntoinette
We were moved over to UC from ESA Supported and surprisingly it went well using the information that is provided in the guide you have. We were also able to have our money paid fortnightly and rent paid directly to be housing association.
We now have to tell them about house rent increase. I have been on the journal and it says wait to be asked about the new rent.
We were told that we would stay on the enhanced UC till there's a change of circumstances. I can not find anywhere what they class as a change that takes you off the enhanced UC to normal amount UC.
So is April's rent increase classed as a change of circumstances and puts you onto the normal amount of UC?
Or is there anywhere you can find out what is a change of circumstances that causes the UC to be changed please and thank you.
We have not been on UC very long and still trying to understand what goes on when.
Thank you for any help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anntoinette
You do not lose all your Transitional Protection in one go, it is eroded. So I need to know how much Transitional Protection you get per month as per the UC statement on your Journal and also how much is the increase in your rent per month.

Transitional Protection is £624.58
The house rent at the moment is £442.30 per month.
New house rent is going to be £454.26 per month.
So an increase of £11.96 per month.
Thank you for your help

I think I did my reply wrong as it is not showing.
Transition protection £624.58
House rent was £442.30
New house rent is £454.26
So a increase of £11.96
I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean by eroded.

Hi Anntoinette
So with those figures your Transitional Protection will be eroded by £11.96 giving a new figure for the TP of £612.62.

Thank you David
so if I understand you correctly every time there's a change in money ie for example benefit goes up in April then they will take the increase off our payment. And this will continue until we are down to the same amount as everyone else is.
