The update on debt recovery. May 5th instead of refunding me £154 debt recovery took another £154. They have taken £308 I don't owe.
Contacted UC again and waiting a response.

Debt recovery are a completely separate team in the DWP and act like a law unto themselves. That is the verdict of a lot of claimants.

What do I do to recovery the money owed to me. UC was meant to send them a notice to pay me the £154. Seems they got the notice but instead of refunding took the money again.

Hi David,
They took the second £154 5th May and then refunded on the 23rd May and it can take 7 to 10 days to hit my account. They done everything under my wife's account about the refund. All started because of a HMRC reporting error on my wife's earnings over 2 years ago, then somebody at the DWP a year ago decided we still owed the money. Seems to be sorted.
