PIP payments and reporting change of circumstances was created by Broadline
HELLO I MAY HAVE POSTED THIS BEFORE BUT I'M REALLY NOT SURE HOW TO DO THIS - THE LAST TIME WAS ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. FORGIVE ME IF I HAVE
Hello
My daughter is in her 20s and is in receipt of PIP at Enhanced rates for both elements.
She was originally on DLA from an early age and transferred to PIP in 2019. Her award was ongoing and is not due to be reviewed until 2029 - a 10 year award.
I have Lasting Power of Attorney ,registered at DWP, and they write to me about her PIP at our home address.
Over the next few weeks she is due to move into supported living. It is a one bedroomed flat in a new build of 12 flats. There is 24 hour support on site and she will also have a 1:1 care package of 20 hours a week at the flat to help with daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, help getting up ready for the day and help to eventually travel independently to 2 voluntary jobs she has at charity shops. She will also have 10 hours a week support for community activities with her current support worker, who has been with her for over 10 years.
She is on no other benefits but will soon be applying for Housing Benefit for the new flat.
This is good news for her future but I would appreciate some advice on the following please.
Does a move to Supported Living automatically affect her PIP payments?
Do I need to advise DWP of this change?
Do I need to advise them of her new address, even though all letters are sent to me?
Do you think this will set in motion an early review of her PIP, particularly with the current changes happening? I had hoped we would be at least ‘safe’ from any review until 2029.
Thank you.

Hi Broadline
Sorry for the delay in answering your post. You need to talk to a specialist welfare advisor who can give you the right advice on this.
I can only speak from experience of a loved on in a similar position to your daughter, who moved in to supported living and has a care package. Some of his PIP is taken by the DWP to pay his additional support. I can't say it will be the same for you - which is why you need to speak to a specialist advisor. The DWP is aware of the move, and although he has a power of attorney, letters get sent to the new accommodation.
I have attached the link to see if you can find one in your area. advicelocal.uk/
