Issues with ESA to UC migration was created by LJ
I have been in receipt of ESA and in the support group for over 10 years. I have recently had to migrate from ESA to UC and it appears that I will now be receiving new style ESA.
My first UC statement showed only a standard allowance but no amount for the support group element which I have now queried on my journal and am waiting for a response.
Today I received a letter stating that I would soon be sent an appointment with a work coach to complete my ESA claim and accept a claimant commitment.
Does this sound like I have been taken out of the support group without notification?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi LJ
What is happening to you is predictible and is being experienced by others in so far as the DWP is rushing through Migration and doesn't have the staff to cope. So others are waiting for the LCWRA payment to come through.
Everybody on New Style ESA has to accept a Claimant Commitment. However it can be done over the phone.
Let me know how you get on.

I have not received the LCWRA component either. CAB helpline advised to query it on my journal and I've been told they are waiting for more information from ESA to see if I am entitled to this.

Many thanks for your response David and thank you for clarifying both situations. Fingers crossed that they will sort it before my next payment due date and that the phone call will be quick and painless!

Many thanks for replying and for letting me know that you have experienced the same issue. Fingers crossed that they will get it sorted for us both soon.
