ESA to UC : Reasonable Adjustment shenanigans

Hi,

I've now opened my UC claim, migrating from IR-ESA. I wasn't able to verify my ID, and in my UC Journal I requested a Reasonable Adjustment due to my inability to attend the Jobcentre in person to do this. Someone (who may be my work coach although he didn't actually identify himself as such) replied fairly quickly to say that would be OK and a telephone appointment or home visit could be arranged instead.

An hour or so later, I get an appointment for a face to face 'Standard Identity Check' at my 'local' jobcentre for tomorrow afternoon deposited on my journal. In a bit of a panic, I post a message querying this when I've already requested a Reasonable Adjustment and apparently had it accepted. And I'm also supposed to stay home tomorrow to receive a telephone call from them, which I could very easily miss if I'm at the Jobcentre instead.

Within ten minutes of posting the above, to my surprise I get a phone call from the lady who posted the appointment, apologising for the mix-up. She then says she'll arrange a home visit for me instead (which despite the delay it'll cause is the best of a bad set of options for me) and she tells me that she'll amend the Journal to reflect this. She's very nice and it all seems hunky-dory. Unfortunately I didn't think to record the call until after it was over.

Two hours later, nothing in my Journal has changed, so I decide to post the following:

"Phone call received to confirm change of 4th June Jobcentre appointment to a home visit. Thank you."

In the event that Nice Lady doesn't get around to amending the journal or just forgets to do it, is that enough to cover me in case they decide to get nasty when I don't go in tomorrow?

They've been reasonably pleasant so far, and of course I could check my Journal in the morning and it'll all be documented correctly, but I've dealt with the DWP enough over the years to know not to take anything for granted. And I am of course taking screenshots all throughout.

Well the face-to-face appointment for this afternoon is still there unchanged in my TO DO list.

I've got the call from them logged on my mobile so at least there's proof they did call if not the details of that call. I'll just have to add a quick polite note asking them to confirm the change on my Journal and hope that'll do.

Phew!

They've changed it and removed it from my To-do list just now, with just an hour to spare (not counting travelling time).

I can stop hovering over my Journal hitting 'refresh' every ten seconds now.
