Hello - I have posted separately about my UC/incapacity/Pip and the struggles over the years with the sort of good news (pending another review).
It's been bad in so many ways but the stinger - doesn't the Equality Act actually require proactive steps? I had forgotten that being so focused on the short term of surviving and getting enough to pay the bills?
I have a meeting booked with my MP - I think I need to dig a bit deeper using the FOIA etc, plus ask why the select commotion on women and inequalities at Westminster and the Equalities Commission are not taking a view/investigating and holding DWP to account.
It's easy to go on X etc so I think I should learn how to do some of this digging and see if I can't at least get some light on all this.
I see Martin Lewis and MSE have put light on the council sending round the bailiffs if you miss a payment - which I did of course while trying to do all the DWP paperwork! It should be stopped and banned doing that - he;s getting some progress. My experience shows this is just one tip of one iceberg.
Unless you tell me I have missed some major change in the pipeline?
This is my first week in years without creditors, energy companies or the council harassing me for unpaid bills so I feel I need to use this energy for the bigger picture. Bearing in mind it's pretty clear locally that many MPs and councillors are feeling the pressure it may be a time when they will take meetings, read X. ...Let's see.
Any suggestions or points to highlight do let me know as obviously my own experience is just that while on here you have the bigger view.
