My partner is in receipt of income related ESA, support group and severe disability along with full PIP, both parts.
Lives in Housing Association accessible property. He has been paralysed for over 20 years. He will reach retirement age in November 2026.
I am currently employed as his carer, via PHB DP, approved by the council. I am waiting to hear whether they will still pay me to look after him. I am 6 years younger than him.
I have savings in excess of £16,000 so know that we will not be able to claim Universal Credit.
I will be moving in with him later this year and we are trying to find out how his ESA will be affected. - Will he be able to still claim the New ESA ?
Will we have to live off my savings?
We are just trying to organise our finances so that we can budget for when I move in.

Hi Kittyhawk50

You will need to find out if your partner receives Contributions Based ESA with an Income Based ESA top up. Does he get a P60 posted to him by the DWP?

He does not get a P60 sent to him, no.
I will get him to ring up and find out about his ESA
