  			 				Hi again BIS

I’ve now calmed down after the award shock and slowly re-read their letter.

I’m pleasantly surprised to learn that they’ll contact me “after 24 September 2035” so 10 years. The date was buried in “making sure the PIP you get is right” paragraphs.

I can now sleep easier, for a while at least.

Thanks again for your help and advice, truly appreciated.

  			 				Hi Gary

Thanks for the congrats.

I’d like to add that dealing with DWP went just fine. DWP personnel were very kind, pleasant and accommodating which surprised me after some of the horror stories I’d come across. I got the extensions I asked for - requested due to bouts of my being ill, CPN’s sickness then her summer holidays which created subsequent delays in appointments. In all it took approx 4 weeks from the forms being returned to my getting a decision. Now whether the quickness was due to it being simply a change of circumstances I don’t know.

And yes I feel I can breathe a little easier, one less bit of stress in my life for the time being.

Thank you
Sia

  			 				Hi Sia7

I was so pleased to read that you found that date buried in the letter. It isn't always clear. I'm glad that you have your ten years. Be aware they can contact you up to a year early - but you definitely have 9 years.

I'm glad you got the extensions you requested, because that doesn't always happen.

Glad you can take a breather now and not worry about the brown envelopes.
