Occupational dependant pension confusion on UC. was created by cats6
Another sperate question.
As I'm awaiting to be put on UC Via the managed migration legacy benefits.
Income related ESA support group
ESA are aware I'm in receipt of small a occupational pension .
And deduct re the current rules a portion of the pension .
It's an old British steel monthly dependants pension
That could only be claimed under strict rules of
once the parent was deceased and ( myself) the child was born disabled.
With UC any ideas how this pension would be calculated, taken into account .
I cannot get a answer from them, only the standard response of ,' wait till you have a work coach to figure it out 😕
And the telephony? department in London couldn't understand why I'd been transferred to them!
including very poor health, hospital stays and appointments
I'm rushing to find answers after being given the run around for nearly 2 months
and a to end soon months extension after receiving the migration notice/ letter in the post 2 months after the date of the letter!

Hi cats6
There are different rules for UC and ESA regarding payments made to a claimant as a beneficiary on the death of a member of a pension scheme.
Is there an official name for the pension payment you receive ?

Hi cats6
The Work Coach would be the very last person to ask as they have very little training and their focus is on Conditionality and Sanctions.
If you have time to go through the guidance below you will see that your pension income will be deducted £ for £ from your UC.
