DWP sending out letters on my husbands and my private pension

Hi guys

I had a letter today from the DWP. I am in receipt of ESA, non working group, not UC.

The letter is asking for my partners and my pension income and also form about working. I explained I don’t work. So I am presuming it’s a standard letter sent to whoever.

I spoke with a helpful person who advised me that the DWP are sending these letters as standard for Data. She explained it doesn’t affect my claim and to complete the form.

I just don’t know why the DWP wants my husband’s pension information, as ESA contribution isn’t means tested.

Have you come across these types of letters before?

Thank you
Minxy

Hi Minxy

As you say it does not affect your claim so if you ignore it there will be no further consequences.
Does the letter give a deadline for return?

Hi David

Yes the I must send the complete letter by the 3 November, they are also requesting original pension payslips. I am not very happy about sending these in the post. The DWP told me if I don’t complete and provide the information they can stop my benefits.

I am very unhappy about this.
Many thanks
Megan

Hi Minxy

Are you near a job centre, they could copy them for you and hand back your original documents.
