  			 				Hi Karen,

You can make a new claim for DLA at anytime, but unless you have more evidence to prove that you qualify, then the outcome is likely to be the same.

My advice would be to seek 'face to face' advice from a benefits adviser. Your local CAB should be able to assist you, if not try Community Legal Advice who should be able to put you in touch with an adviser in your local area.

Hope this helps.

  			 				Hi Karen,

Do mention the depression as it can be a major points winner!

Never be afraid or embarrassed to say you have mental health problems as there are so many people suffering from them these days it's getting to be like the common cold.

I have had depression for over 20 years so I know just how bad it can be.

If you need to chat just mail me.

I applied for my son DLA to be looked at again as he had addtional probelms mainly in walking. it came nack at the same level, I asked for a review - it came back at the same levels. So I said I wanted to appeal, what I didn't know until that point was even though you ask for an appeal it still goes to DLA first for up to 13 weeks for them to look again to see if there was an error on there part, if they are satified then the papers are sent to appeal and a date is set. It is long and tedious but prevail I have been doing this since last September and the DLA are really crafty in they don't look at the date of original claim to make sure the process is speedy they look at the date of review which I think is appaling, but they are my thoughts. If you think you have a legitimate claim then ask for an appeal and if you are out of the time period tell them that you din't realsie you could appeal which is what I understand from what you have said?
