hi
i Know you have to tell the dwp of any change of circumstances.but if your on IB and fail to tell them a change of circumstances that DOESNT effect your benefit,can you get into any trouble.

i have i phoned to say i had moved in with partner.they said doesnt matter doesnt effect your IB no need to tell us im just worried somewhere down the line they might say i didnt tell them.i tell them everything but worry when they say doesnt matter no need to tell us in case its incorrect

Any telephone calls made to/from the DWP should always be confirmed in writing, to avoid any problems with future benefit entitlement.

Hi,
I agree with CD. Confirm in writing what you told them and keep a copy of the letter and proof of posting. If you get any other benefits, such as housing benefit you need to inform the agencies that pay those as well.

but if it didnt effect your benefit and there was no proof you had told them would it be classed as fraud
