DLA - details of people who help

I am in the process of updating my DLA for the second time in just under a year. I am using the guides to write my letter and explain what my needs are.

I have a friend who sometimes helps me. If I get him to write a supporting letter, does this mean they will automatically contact him? Or is this only done if they need information from him? I have never had to fill this section in before.

The DLA decision maker can contact anyone you name on the claim form, or conversely they may decide not to contact anybody and make a decision solely based on the evidence on the claim form.

By all means if you wish, your friend can write a supporting letter on your behalf, but what impact it will have on the status of your DLA claim will be entirely a matter for the decision maker.

I have heldped many people claim Attendance Allowance and wrote a letter from a friend.in most cases they got it immediately, and in 2 on review, so i think it is a help
