Medical Report was created by Marie72
My medical assesment report just came through in the post! I only requested it on Friday.

I had to check the name three times, as I was convinced that it was someone else's...
I can't believe how many discrepancies there are in there, I am on anti-psychotic medication at present to control my bi-polar as I often have hallucinations in a manic episode. Very recently in fact, I went to my G.P about this - I also made it very clear to the ATOS nurse who did the medical, she states "No hallucinations recently". I told her, I cannot stand in supermarket queues and will leave shopping and walk out due to anxiety. "No problem with queing" repeated constantly on the report.

I Guess I had better get drafting that appeal letter already..........

How can they get away with these fabrications? :(

Unless you appeal an adverse decision, which you intend to do if the decision goes against you, then in the absence of an official transcript of the medical assessment either by way of audio and/or video or official stenography, in essence, Atos healthcare professionals can say what they like.

The only other option available to you is to make an official formal complaint to Atos about this particular issue, but it will be very much a case of your word against their word.

It's little wonder that Atos do not want medical assessments recorded, by placing insurmountable barriers up against claimants to stop this happening. However, it is not just Atos who deny claimants recording or having an official transcript the proceedings, as this also applies to appeal tribunal hearings, with the status of judicial proceedings.

In any other court of law, a stenographer at the very least will transcribe verbatim the proceedings, and not as in the case of tribunal hearings the tribunal judge, who is not required to record everything that has been said. Indeed, in the case of one Upper Tribunal judge, he doesn't seem to think that what has been said is particularly relevant to appeals to the UT. How very strange?

Do you get the impression that they have something to hide?

I just called the DWP - I know I probably shouldn't have, but I'm so upset by all this.

I was told that I should never have received the medical report so quickly as it hasn't even been updated on the system yet. The woman I spoke to had no idea why I have a copy before they do, they usually take at least two weeks to come through she said. Oh well, to be for-warned is to be for-armned at least I guess.

It is certainly not your fault. If you shouldn't have received the report, and I see no reason why not, the blame lies fairly and squarely at the DWP's door.

Clearly the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at that particular office!

I had a similar experience. I didn't see my report for three months. It is full of discrepancies, and, as said above, the same paragraph is repeated many times throughout the very long winded document. I was reported as having said something that I did not say, and misreported in two other things. However, the ATOS employee got it wrong in her assessment of one of my conditions, and I'll be taking that up with the Tribunal. B)

I thought the Guy (doctor huh) got the forms mixed up. I noted 22 glaring discrepancies and sent them back to the department. It was a joke without the humour. he made me feel if i was on a conveyer belt he wrote that fast. the 'medical' part lasted about 30 seconds. I had to check my underarms fo BO the guy was so fast lol.
