Hi Dave,

I understand what you're thinking, but I'm afraid that in an age of such intense suspicion of claimants it's not something we could support. The tabloids would leap on it as claimants exchanging tips on how best to improve your application to get benefits you're not entitled to.

As publishers we could even face accusations of conspiracy to commit fraud.

I know that's absolutely not what you are thinking of, but I'm afraid there's a world of difference between publishing a guide to claiming DLA with general principles and a sample answers and actually producing highly detailed answers and then getting other people to suggest how to improve them.

Though, of course, looking through a completed claim pack and suggesting ways in which additional/clearer information could be given is what advice agencies do every day of the week.

thats a shame as it seems to help big time on debtfreewanabe for example

people helping people in such a way should be applauded dla forms are not easy and help from people with experiance should be allowed without people thinking the worse ......

Reportage -- whereupon, unfortunately, most people* will "think" what they're told to think.
And there's a 99.999% probability that would be hostile.

*Very few would even bother to check it out for themselves, let alone question any assertions.

I say "it doesn't matter what people may think" We are being targeted and attacked from every angle possible by the government. We need to fight back in any way we can, this situation is serious. We need all and any help we can get in order to defend ourselves.

Hi All,

I disagree with a thread where people would provide details of their own experience's, personal care and mobility needs. Even though I am going through the process myself at the minute (DLA Tribunal), I would not need anyone to advise me on what my own needs are,
I am fully aware of them myself.

I really dont understand the point of someone explaining what they put on their own DLA form for someone else to read. What i put on my form was personal to my own circumstances, surley everyone else would know themselves what their own circumstances are, and what help they need.

If people feel they are not in the position of explaining their circumstances on the actual form, then the citizens advice, or welfare rights, or their carer's, etc would be able to help them explain more clearly.

DLA is becoming more and more difficult for people to get and a lot of the time it is really unfair with unreasonable adjudications, and poorly prepared EMP reports being accepted over GP's and the disabled person's own facts. However, I strongly believe that DLA also needs to be protected for those who rightly deserve it and it seems that in order to actually benefit, you have to really fight.

There is any amount of information and guidance out there, especially for people with access to the internet through support groups and disability advice. I would suggest that joining a support group in connection with your own particular disability is your best option, and keep benefits and work as it is because being as it is has been valuable to many.
