Hi
I had my ESA medical 2 weeks ago, but I have not heard yet, which, if any of the groups I will be placed. I did not have the Work Focus Health Related Assessment (WFHRA) at the medical, nor have I been given an appointment to attend one. My question is: is it normal not to have received the results yet or does the decision maker need the report from the WFHRA before he/she can make a decision.
Many Thanks

The WFHRA assessment is separate from the WCA to the extent that the report from the WFRHA is not sent to the ESA decision maker, and therefore does not form part of the decision about your fitness for work, although according to the ESA administration procedure it is supposed to be completed at the same assessment. However, this is not always happening due to the huge backlog caused by the unnecessary complexity of ESA, and all that it entails
The WFRHA report is actually sent to your ESA personal adviser to assess the kind of work you could suitably undertake, as a result of your health condition.
In answer to your question, the ESA decision maker can make a decision on your entitlement without the WFRHA report, for the afore-mentioned reasons.

Hi. I didnt get the results of my Medical for six months, then got put in the support group, with backdated payments from when i first applied for ESA. I had a seperate WHFRA six months after the initial medical and two months after I had attended the Job Centre and the Pathways to work interview. So don't get excited, I really dont think you will hear anytime soon! - but at least they do backdate payments!
