Sending documents re ESA application was created by mermaid
I am in the middle of applying for ESA - the first time. I have had the phone discussion/interview and then I await the forms to be sent to me.

I gather that I will then need to send them my sickness certificate to the office at Gloucester with my SSP1 form.

I think I have read somewhere on here that it is advisable to always send these kind of documents Recorded Delivery - is that correct or a bit OTT? I know that these things can get lost en route and maybe best to be safe rather than sorry? It's just that I know the person I spoke to mentioned the prepaid envelope.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi Mermaid, Use the guides from this site to help you fill in the form, they're invaluable. Give as full & detailed information as possible under each section & for each one state how you are on your best days, your not so good days & your worst days. If you have time before the form needs to be sent off. Keeep a daily diary for two weeks or more of what you can & more inmportantly what you can't do.
Good luck,
maggie

Hi, where i am all the mail to dwp goes to a service centre at gatwick and then sent on in bulk to hastings.then its opened on mass I have had stuff lost recorded or not as its lost by the admin after being opened I was told you must mark your envelope on the front ie; ESA CLAIM or whatever your sending for and its worked everytime since, keep copies of everything med certs etc also p60 or P45 if asked for, very important. also mark on your calender when next med cert is due from doctor dont rely wholly on getting a brown envelope reminder they are only computer driven. clip your med cert etc to the reminder sheet or A4 sheetif not and also mark on front of sheet ESA or etc. they are that silly! all the best Rap.
