Advisor Discretion Fund was created by lynch2
Im going to see a Personal Advisor later.
Basically, after a few years of being on Incapacity Benefit and DLA, I have decided to try and go back to work on a Voluntart basis.
The thing is I need to buy myself work clothing etc, so I will be able to do the job safely.
I have read somewhere that the Maximum available from the fund is £300 for a 12 month period.
COuld somebody please please give me advice on this, so I can mention this at my interview.
Because at the moment they are saying the most they can give me is £50.
and to be honest, that will only buy me a pair of work boots. Yet alone the rest of the workwear required.

Thankyou all.

Hi,

It could be thst assistance is via the DEA at JobCentrePlus, so its worth asking there.

If the what you need is classed as Personal Protective Equipment, then it should be upto the employer to provide whether your work is voluntary or paid.
