New Medical was created by jemimajane
Hi everyone

I am incensed, because I have just heard from the DWP that I have to attend a second medical (my last one was in June!). The ESA50 is winging it's way to me as we speak, and when that has been received by them I will be required to attend the second medical.

I thought they had stopped the repeat medicals, but obviously not. The lady told me on the phone that this is normal procedure, a timescale is given on the report about when the claimant is likely to be considered 'fit for work', then they are told to go back for another medical. This can happen about four times a year in some cases. I just can't believe it.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi jemimajane,

The second medical that has been stopped is the work-focused health-related assessment rather than repeat work capability assessments. Unfortunately, 6 months between WCAs is not uncommon.

Good luck,

Steve
