DLA Higher Rate Mobility if mental problems?

More

Is it possible to get the higher rate mobility award of DLA for mental or neurological health problems?

I was told by an advisor that higher rate mobility was only available if you *physically* couldn't walk more than a certain distance.

However if someone has epilepsy (or some other neurological or serious mental condition) then wouldn't they qualify for higher rate mobility?

Thank you for any information.

You can get higher rate mobility for certain severe behavioural problems and for physical mobility problems, otherwise it's lower rate mobility you're looking at.

hi finni
it can be obtained by means of mental health if you need supervision when out and about, but you may need to demenstrate that you could be a danger to yourself or others.
hope this helps
