exemptions? was created by harley
I'm getting more confused again, you know that you can be exempt from IB in certain circumstances, can you also be exempt from ESA as well?. I hope I am explaining myself clearly.
thank you
Harley

Hi,
Sorry it is not exactly clear what you mean.
Are you referring to cases such as overlapping benefits which prevents IB/ESA being paid, or such as not having paid the necessary NI payments/credits for IB/Contributory ESA?

I'm guessing the question may relate to medicals? You can get ESA without attending a medical in certain circumstances.

Hi,
There are very limited circumstances in which you are exempt from the work capability assessment for ESA, such as if you are terminally ill.
Full details are in the ESA guides in the members area.
Good luck,
Steve
