Asperger's Syndrome was created by sjc1017
I read the latest newsletter with terror. I notice you say that "Claimants with mental and behavioural disorders have much less chance of being placed in the support group".
I have Aspurger's Syndrome and have never worked in my adult life. I am terrified of these changes because I do have terrible problems which I can avoid by being reclusive. These changes really concern me becuase my problems are not easy to discern since the concern communication and information processing. I can't interact well with people at all and I suffer massive anxiety to the state of paralysis. So I really worry about how I am even going to deal with all of this.

getting in the support group will be hard for you, and will depend a lot IMO on having good supporting evidance from your drs
this is where the problem starts, you dont say how old you are but most people with your problems get dropped by mental health services between the age of 16 and 19 deoending what access you had to services via school ed phys and your gp ?
mind you DWP documents on A to Z of medical problems and the old medical hand book do point out the lack of recent medical service input for people with your problems
its a shame because if you still had input from such services it might be possible in time to take on a job ... but in practice with cuts in nhs services and social services the supports just not there for you
If I was you I would contact the NAT

and seak there advice

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If you have not done so already, have a look at the Understanding ESA guide in the Members area, it covers getting into the Support Group, albeit using the current criteria, and will hopefully give you some ideas on how you can prepare.
