Reasssessment of IB was created by RachelPotter
Hi, I've been reading the guide to The Reassessment of IB on the DWP web site and was wondering if this is really happening;

Jobcentre Plus will write to customers when their benefit is about to be reassessed. Jobcentre Plus will also phone the customer shortly after this to check they have received the letter, that they understand what action they need to take, and to find out if they need any extra help.

Just wondering if they are phoning, offering help and if so, what that help is?

Best wishes,
Rachel

I can see the ATOS report now

"customer answered phone and concentrated well when phoned by JC plus. complied clearly with written instructions and the involved dequential tasks. Good social skills .............

Get the idea ...

I'm a bit paranoid about it but frankly I'd rather no phone calls from JCPlus
All inn writing is best, less potential for things being misconstrued

In the situation as described I would advise members never to deal with the DWP by telephone in any circumstances, especially where the telephone call is initiated by the Department.

The only possible exception to engage in telephone contact with the DWP, would be if the claimant made a telephone call of their own volition for information purposes only. It is inadvisable to discuss entitlement to benefit decisions by telephone, especially where reconsiderations and/or appeals are concerned, as the DWP are a party to the proceedings and have a vested interest in the outcome, which may not always be of advantage to the claimant/appellant as is often seen in this forum.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I totally agree XFACTOR, especially with regards to decisions and appeals.

I wonder just how many of the recently migrated IB'ers have fallen for this already?

I think it stinks that people are in affect, being set up!

Best wishes,
Rachel

I fully endorse that advice, and also if you do answer the phone tell them you can't undersand what they are saying and ask for a letter or email to be sent for a friend to read to you.

Personaly i would want a paper trail when dealing with the DWP or more so with ATOS.
