Hi Blindeye, I had the same problem, all sorted now, had a home visit medical, i am in WRAG now. If i was you i would make a new claim for ESA, if i considered myself not fit for work, which is a legal requirement to JSA. AS others have said if you did not attend a medical without good cause the ESA stop your benefit ( the personal allowance bit), but from what i can make out what you are saying you informed them that you could not attend so they should send you a new appoinment asp. DO you have any help from the Mental Health team??I have a community mental health nurse visit me once a week and can call them at any time for support and help, which has been a god send to me they helped arrange a home medical and deal with the ESA for me.
“If you have limited capability for work, you can still claim JSA if you can show that you have a reasonable prospect of employment.”
I have thought seriously about what type of work I could be capable of doing – and the only thing I can come up with due to my disability is home – based work (work that I can do from home from my PC or telephone)
Would this be seen as a realistic prospect/attempt at gaining employment – or would this be considered too limited to claim JSA.
