When the Decision maker reads you esa form to detemine the points you get do they just use the boxes you tick or is the information you include in the spaces provided used aswell wether it helps you score or even lowers the points you may get
thanks
Hi H,
As the tick box alone may not fully cover your limitations, the added comments in the text boxes are for the claimant to go into more detail regarding their limitations.
So both the tick box, and the text box comments should be taken into account by the assessing HCP.

so you can tick no in a tick box, even though you can do it sometimes, and then put in space below the reason why you cant or find it hard to and the assessor decides from everything said what to award.sorry for questioning the forms harder to understand

Put it this way if you tick "Yes" you can carry out an action, then it is unlikely that you will receive any points for that descriptor/action.
If you tick "No" and then go on to say it varies, and give an explanation why, you may well pick up points.
Obviously if there is an "It Varies" option, you should tick that if applicable, and go into detail in the text box.

A claimant can only fill in a form truthfully, to the best of their knowledge and ability.
A claimants perception of their own limitations and disabilities, may be different to that of someone else.
