Income support claim was created by sedna
hi i'm newly diagnosed CFS/ME, unable to work at all, barely managing to look after myself, and just applied for Income Support with sick note from my GP (on advice from someone at a drop-in Job Club).
I did this as i was too ill to cope with anything more, but now wonder if I should just apply for ESA directly.

My question is quite simple, do i just send the completed downloaded ESA form off once I've filled it in?
I don't want to get into phone conversations as they are too exhausting and i can't rely on my mind at the moment to give 'correct' responses.
And i'm also currently filling in the DLA form which is like a full-time occupation... thanks for being here.. your site is a lifesaver! ;)

Hi Sedna

Welcome to B&W. You will find the answers to your questions by clicking Members Only in the orange section on both ESA & DLA, where its possible to download the information.

The DLA form is indeed lengthy & repetitive. Please use the guide on how to complete.

As we don't have any background knowledge of your case, it's not possible to answer specific questions, only general ones.

If you feel you need face to face advice you may wish to consult a Welfare Rights Officer at an Advice Centre.

Kind regards

Michael

Just to clarify with regard to the ESA form that you mention.

For a fresh claim of ESA you should use form ESA1.

This can be downloaded from this web page.:
