I'm afraid it is the norm to be repetitively tested for ESA as Atos seem to be ridiculously optimistic as to when a claimant's condition will improve.
I'll leave Pete to answer your WP question.

Excuse my stupidity (theres quite a bit of it going about!)ahh moving on, on a serious note I've been sent a new ESA 50 form after been awarded the support group last year and if anything my situation is worse than ever having just been hospitalised for PTSD.(this being written by a friend) So is this run of the mill and normal? i.e. the year is up so now provide us with the same details you did last year? Also a little question for Pete:- at which % rate does War Pension replace ESA on an equal footing if you follow me? I mean when does War Pension take over from ESA so as I dont have to carry on providing ESA with these silly forms and just transfer over to War Pension? Thanks, sorry it so long. (nice to be back)
Hi robo 1071,
Re your war pension query, one must be in receipt of a War Pension at the 60% disablement rate or higher before one can claim Unemployability Supplement (usually referred to as Unsupp). As well as 60%+ disablement, one must be permanently incapable of working and under the age of 65 when claiming.
Unsupp directly overlaps with ESA/IB so both cannot be paid at the same time.
There are rules attached to Unsupp if you have a working spouse etc which are explained from page 7 of the following pdf guide:
www.veterans-uk.info/pdfs/publications/v...flets/valeaflet2.pdf
If you claim Unsupp before age 60, then Invalidity Allowance may also be payable, as will comforts allowance at the lower rate.
Regards
Pete
